The Bubble You've Been Keeping Tucked Away

There's a version of you that shows up in certain rooms, with certain people, at certain safe distances. Loud there. Quiet everywhere else. Sparkling in small, permitted doses.
Maybe someone gave that version of you a name once — a nickname, a memory, a moment where you were fully, unguardedly yourself. And maybe somewhere along the way, you learned to keep that version tucked in your back pocket. Useful for special occasions. Too much for everyday life.
Here's the question I want to sit with today: what would it look like to live as that version of yourself, all the time, unapologetically?
We confuse "quiet" with "small"
So many of us do the work of a lifetime without ever calling it that. We show up. We carry the load nobody asked us to carry. We keep our heads down, get it done, and never make a production of it — not because we don't deserve credit, but because we were never taught to expect it.
Somewhere in that pattern, we start believing that staying small is the same thing as staying humble. It isn't. Humility doesn't require hiding.
"Someday" isn't a plan
Maybe you've told yourself you'll take the trip, start the thing, say the hard "no," speak up in the room — someday. When the timing's better. When you're more ready. When it's less scary.
I want to offer you a different framework: "someday" is a delay tactic dressed up as patience. There is no expiration date on becoming who you actually are. No cutoff age for curiosity, for boundaries, for joy that doesn't ask permission first.
Sí se puede
There's a phrase I keep coming back to — one that's less about grand gestures and more about the daily, mile-by-mile decision to keep going, and to cheer on the people running beside you while you do it:
"Feeling good, looking good. You can do it. Sí se puede."
That's not a mantra for the finish line. It's a mantra for right now, mid-mile, when the whole thing feels far from over.
Living out loud
This is the heart of the Bison Approach — not charging blindly into every storm, but running toward the parts of yourself you've been running from. The parts you've kept quiet. The parts that are ready, finally, to live out loud instead of in careful, permitted doses.
You don't need someone else's permission to stop shrinking. You just need to decide the bubble doesn't stay tucked away anymore.
Con amor y luz,
Gabriela
